Is the colour a coating or is it in the glass?

It is in the glass. We use tinted float glass that is then silvered, so the colour is a property of the substrate. Coated or film-tinted mirrors, which are cheaper, will scratch and can discolour under sunlight.

Can tinted mirror be supplied in large panels for wall cladding?

Yes, up to 1800x2400 mm per panel with CAT II safety backing, which is normally required for architectural mirror cladding. We supply cut-to-size panel schedules for this application with edge and joint details.

Do the three tints match between production runs?

Within a production batch, yes. Across batches separated by months there can be a slight variation, as with any tinted float glass. For a project where panels will be adjacent, order the full quantity in one batch and tell us the panels are contiguous.

Overview

A single-pane arch-profile mirror in champagne gold tinted glass with a fully polished edge around the arch head. The tint is a property of the glass substrate, so it will not fade under sunlight or scratch off, which is the failure mode of coated and film-tinted alternatives.
